We're on a mission to bring back the era of sovereign communication.
In 2014, Skype was the gold standard for staying in touch. It was fast, reliable, and familiar. But as the world moved toward centralized, ad-driven platforms, that classic experience was lost. We missed the bit-perfect Aero UI, the iconic sounds, and most importantly, the sense of privacy that came with peer-to-peer communication.
To provide a sovereign, production-grade forensic reconstruction of the classic communication experience, hardened with modern encryption and built for a post-centralized world.
Phaze is a full-stack engine built from scratch in Go and React. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted with NaCl (Curve25519 + XSalsa20-Poly1305) — the server stores the ciphertext but cannot read it. Voice and video calls use WebRTC with an automatic TURN fallback so they work even through symmetric NAT.
We believe your communication belongs to you. No third-party tracking, no behavioral profiling, no data sold to anyone. Don't trust phazechat.world? Run your own Nexus on your own server — Phaze is open source and self-hostable with one Docker command. That's the Phaze promise.
Phaze is built by sovereign engineers for sovereign users. Whether you're a forensic developer or just someone who misses the old days, there's a place for you in our network.
